Okay, when I said I was sleeping in my crib now, this may not have been what you pictured.  Well, technically I wasn't lying...  Hey, it's a start -- Mom and Dad should be thrilled that I now occasionally sleep 7+ hours at night!

ONE GENTLY USED BASSINET.  ITEM NO LONGER NEEDED SINCE OWNER SLEPT IN CRIB FOR FIRST TIME LAST NIGHT.

I'm sort of getting used to this whole bathtime ritual.  Although I still cry at the beginning of the ordeal, I frankly find it kind of soothing.

Can you guess what I've been up to (again) today?

Mom and Dad have noticed that I'm much more alert as of late.  I could spend hours on end studying my mobile and get downright upset when it's time to leave the changing pad.  Boy, how times have changed.  I used to hate having my diaper changed, but now it's a joy!

Mom, Aunt Britt and I hit the mall today and did some shopping.  On a whim, we decided to have a few pictures taken.  Not to brag or anything, but passersby kept stopping to look at me through the window.  It was a very fun afternoon.

Jess, Justin and my future boyfriend Isaac came over to meet me for the first time today.  He may be a little tyke but he sure seems like a giant to me.  I'm still smaller than he was the day he was born!

No sooner had my previous visitors left than Aunt Britt popped over from California!  We spent some quality "sling time" together today while Mom and Dad feverishly got things done around the house (notice Mom in the background performing hi-tech woodworking repair). Aunt Britt sure seems to be in good spirits here considering the fact that Lainey, Jerry and myself all vomited/spat up on her or some article of her clothing at one time or another.

Gee, this sure is a busy place these days.  Mom's friend Sara and her three daughters Arcadia, Huyana and Jade came by this morning to visit.  As you can see below, it didn't take long for them to make themselves at home.

It was really cool to find out that my stuff is in such high demand!  I had a great time hanging out today.  Hope you young ladies had a fun time as well. Call me, we'll do lunch!

I may look as though I'm enjoying myself in my bassinet, but looks can be deceiving.  I gotta tell ya, I'm not feelin' the love in this thing these days.  I much prefer resting on an incline in my car seat.  Or better yet, I enjoy being held in a nice and comfortable, upright position while being gently jiggled for oh, about a half hour or so.  You know, nothing too demanding.  I wouldn't want to put Mom and Dad through too much trouble...

Although it took me a while to warm up to the idea, I now love hanging out in the sling.  Sometimes I even face outward so that I can check out the amazing world around me.  I'm spending much more time awake these days.  So many fascinating things just awaiting my discovery!

I can't believe that Nana is heading back home tomorrow.  Time sure does fly.  We had lots of fun together and I look forward to seeing her again in September at Aunt Britt's wedding!

Okay, I'm starting to get a bit more comfortable with the idea of hanging out in my crib.  I love to stare at myself in the mirror and have been known to hang out in here for up to 30 minutes at a time.  I guess the plan is for me to actually sleep here some day.  We'll see...

Try as Mom and Dad might, they just aren't able to give Lainey and Jerry just the attention they're accustomed too.  The kitties are handling it very well, but I can't help but feel that I'm largely responsible for that, so I'm hoping to downshift from being high-maintenance to maybe just medium-maintenance.  In theory, today (the big 6 week mark) is supposed to mark the peak of my fussiness.  Mom and Dad, don't hold your breath...

All of the "experts" told Mom and Dad not to waste too much money buying newborn-sized diapers before I was born since we babies tend to outgrow them very quickly.  Well, that didn't happen.  Six weeks and several hundred "N" (newborn) sized Pampers later, Mom and Dad decided they had bought enough and that it was time to move me into Size 1 which they have plenty of lying around the house.  For cryin' out loud, I could have pulled this saggy, baggy size 1'er up to my chin.  This thing feels more like a turtleneck than a diaper.  Guess this will take some getting used to...

I thought I'd share with you some of my many expressions. Here's a play-by-play of one of my recent endeavors. I've got this sequence down pat... It starts out with me:

Nana arrived in the wee hours of the morning today and I just couldn't wait to meet her.  She came all the way from Hawaii just to see me!  I'm sure we'll have lots of fun together.  Maybe she'll even teach me how to cook satay.

The so-called Miracle Blanket  is now considered the definitive blanket in our household (at least for now -- ask me again in a couple of weeks).  Although it does have its flaws and is definitely far from a miracle, it has held up against all other competitors and is now my "go to" blanket when times are tough.

Yesterday Mom and Dad wanted to find out how I would feel about hanging out in the crib instead of the bassinet.  I gave it the old college try but it just wasn't happening.  I mean seriously folks, look at me.  I'm just a tiny ripple in a sea of crib.  Not exactly cozy if you know what I mean.  Meanwhile, there's still plenty of room to grow in my bassinet. Maybe I'll try the crib out again in a few weeks... 

I finally got to wear pants today which was very exciting.  They finally fit (well, er... sort of).  Guess that means I'm a big girl now.

Nothing very exciting to look at here.  Just another naked baby picture... Since I've began pudging out more, I've started my own lint collection which I store in the many creases of my body.  My favorite spot to store it is in the crease of my neck since it provides a nice challenge for Mom and Dad who are still trying to figure out how to keep the area clean without ticking me off.

Today I enjoyed my first bottle.  Dad was pretty nervous about how things would go, but I quickly convinced him that it was no big whoop.  I figured this is the same stuff that Mom feeds me, but Dad just has a different technique for presenting the goods.   I hope this eventually makes life easier for Mom.

Whenever I'm on my back with my appendages unsecured I get this wacky feeling like I'm floating through space and I don't know which limb is about to flail next.  They keep telling me that I'll feel like I'm on planet Earth soon, but I think it's gonna be a long, long time.

Gee, is it time to post to my blog again already?  I feel like I just did this.  All of this blogging is really beginning to tucker me out.  I guess I'll have to cut down on the my posting frequency if I'm going to maintain my sanity...

Jerry and I have been spending more quality time together as promised.  We were both pretty wiped out today after a hard day's "work".  The more I think about it the more I realize that we really aren't that different.  We have a similar routine:  Eat. Sleep. Poop. Repeat (with a few other things thrown in).  We may look pretty similar in size but Jerry's still got me by a good 12 pounds.

P.S.  I'm one month old today.  Boy, that went by quickly!

I've been a bit of a grump lately for various reasons.   What can I say, life is rough sometimes.  Thought I'd give you a glimpse of a day in the life since I wouldn't want to give you the impression that I'm an angel baby.

I've been feeling very popular lately with all of these visitors stopping by to say hello.  Here are Mom and I along with Catherine and Gabriel who came all the way from Amsterdam just to spend time with me today.  Well okay, they visited a bunch of other people too but it just made me feel so very cosmopolitan...  I let Gabriel play with a bunch of my toys including a super duper slide in the backyard that I haven't gotten around to trying out yet.   Ahh, someday....  I've got other things on my mind for now like sleeping and eating and pooping.

P.S.  Dad, I think you might be a little behind with the yard work.  Check out that serious piece of grass or whatever that has gone to seed between Mom's arms.

Today was very busy.  Sarah, Jay and this little guy named Simon came by to pay me a visit, which was very cool.  I think I'm going to like this Simon character.  He turns 4 years old tomorrow and has lots to teach me.  He's very cool and all but this guy kept trying to teach me Spanish and even Thai and I was just thinking the whole time, "Come on buddy, let's just work on English for now, m'kay?"  Later on, Auntie Fran stopped by for dinner and we all had lots of fun stuffing our faces.  All in all, a very nice day.

I've been spending more time sitting up lately (with some assistance, of course).  I've been known to unleash some colossal burps while in this position which Dad has already taught me is something to be proud of.

I've been trying to teach Mom and Dad how to speak Grunt  lately in order to more effectively communicate my needs.  They are slow learners so sometimes I have to switch over to another dialect such as Squeal or in extreme cases, Wail.   They do seem to understand that sometimes I just need my head elevated and that being able to turn toward my side just a little bit while supervised can make a world of difference. 

Well, this is definitely the most girly outfit that I've worn so far.  It's a dress but also a onesie at the same time.  Pretty neat...  It's so comfortable that I drifted right off to sleep in Mom's Boppy.  I think this makes for quite a nice ensemble, don't you?

Here I am in the Aquarium Bouncer which is just one of the cool things that Mom and Dad got for me with the gift certificates from Grandpa and Grandma H.  It might take me a while to figure out how to use all of the features on this baby since it's pretty high-tech, even for me.  I enjoy it a lot and may post a more thorough review down the road once I've had more time to test drive it.

Time to settle down for a nice nap after a good meal.  The menu doesn't seem to offer much in the way of variety but I do usually find myself quite satisfied afterwards.  Here you can get a glimpse of my belly button which, in my opinion, is shaping up rather nicely.  I can't help but notice that Jerry keeps trying to sneak into my photos lately.  I think he's jealous since Lainey got all the attention on my May 17th blog entry.  In fact, that's the only entry to date which has a picture without me in it!  Sorry, Jerry...  I love both of you guys in equal amounts.  You will surely have your day in the sun soon.

There's been a recent development regarding my koala blanket.  Despite Mom and Dad's strict adherence to Dr. Karp's expert swaddling technique, my feet have started popping out.  Although Mom's first reaction was to assume that something about the blanket had magically changed (cut her some slack, she's very sleep-deprived as of late), it dawned on us that I was growing out of this thing so Mom ordered me something called the Miracle Blanket.  I wish it would hurry up and get here, for everybody's sake.

P.S.  No, I don't usually sleep with Mr. Peanut.  Mom just put the jar there to give some perspective on how tiny my feet are.

We went to the reservoir today.  What a beautiful place to go for a stroll!  I love this cool cap I got from Simon.  It's just perfect for beating the heat on a sunny day like today, even if it does sort of make me look like a boy...
